Dear Sias alumni，

随着新年钟声的敲响，我们共同迈入了2024年。我在洛杉矶向全球各地的西亚斯人致以新年的问候和祝福！

As the chimes of the New Year ring out, we step into the year 2024 together. From Los Angeles, I extend New Year greetings and blessings to all Sias alumni around the globe!

刚刚过去的2023年，是疫情防控转段后经济恢复发展的一年，也是学校和全体校友在奋进中开拓、在发展中收获的一年，学校在国际化办学、住宿书院制改革、完全学分制改革、产教融合等方面持续发力，众多兄弟院校从全国各地前来考察学习，获得的各类奖项和荣誉再创新高，希望你们为学校取得的进步感到骄傲和自豪！

The year 2023, which has just passed, marked a period of economic recovery following the transition in pandemic prevention and control. It was a year of exploration and achievements for the university and all alumni, as Sias continued its efforts in international education, residential college system reform, full credit system reform, and industry-education integration. Numerous sister institutions from across the country visited for study and exploration, leading to new heights in awards and honors. I hope you take pride in and feel proud of the progress made by the university!

自从去年就任联合国协会世界联合会主席，我的工作内容变得更加充实。第一次参与国际组织外交领域的工作，对我而言的确是一个很好的体验和学习机会，也可以更好地发挥中国影响力。借助世联会平台，西亚斯在国际高等教育舞台上的形象越来越鲜明，“地球村”里的“朋友圈”越来越大。

Since assuming the role of President of the World Federation of United Nations Association last year, my responsibilities have become more fulfilling. Engaging in international diplomatic work for the first time has been a valuable experience and learning opportunity for me, enabling me to better leverage China's influence. Through the platform of the WFUNA, Sias' presence on the international higher education stage has become increasingly prominent, expanding our "circle of friends" in the "global village."

我也利用春节假期，走访加州州立大学、内华达大学、纽约电影学院等美国知名高校，为西亚斯更好地开展国际交流、合作办学拓展机会。最让我开心的，是身在北美的校友们在我家中欢庆农历新年，我的老朋友高群耀博士带来的精彩讲座，令大家收获满满。

During the Spring Festival break, I visited renowned American institutions such as California State University, University of Nevada, and New York Film Academy to enhance opportunities for international exchanges and collaborative education for Sias. What brought me the most joy was the Lunar New Year celebration hosted by alumni in North America at my home, featuring a fascinating lecture by my old friend Dr. Jack Q. Gao, bringing joy to all in attendance.

3月和4月，我和几位校领导分别参加了郑州、深圳、上海三地校友疫情后的首次聚会，被大家的热情所深深感染，校友们在事业上的努力和进步让我们倍感欣慰。

In March and April, I and several university leaders attended the first post-pandemic alumni gatherings in Zhengzhou, Shenzhen, and Shanghai, deeply moved by everyone's enthusiasm. The efforts and progress of alumni in their careers are truly gratifying.

访校日和开学季期间，天南海北的校友们再度相聚母校，大雨中的中国园烧烤别有一番风味，开学典礼的烛光仪式使大家重温旧日时光。很多校友都对我说，学校变化真大，越来越漂亮，真想再次回到母校当一名幸福的学生。

During the Homecoming Day and the Opening Ceremony for class 2023, alumni from all corners of the world reunited at their alma mater. The Chinese garden barbecue in the pouring rain had a unique charm, and the candlelight ceremony made everyone to relive old times. Many alumni expressed how much Sias has changed and how they would love to return as happy students to me.

过去的这一年，许许多多的校友通过各种形式帮助学校发展：创办泡泡玛特的王宁、刘冉等校友一如既往地支持学校的公益事业，将他们设立的“筑梦计划”奖助学金规模扩大至500万元；夺冠集团的陈淼、新华书店发行集团的郭宁等校友积极参与校企合作共建，将各种社会资源带回母校；还有慷慨捐赠的尚利锋、王传利、刘飞、秦要军、李欣等校友，我无法逐一列举，你们树立了好榜样，影响在校的学弟学妹们在未来更好地回馈母校和社会。

In the past year, many alumni have contributed to the university's development in various ways: Wang Ning, Liu Ran, who founded POP MART have consistently supported Sias’ public welfare, expanding the "Dream Building Plan" scholarship fund to 5 million yuan. Chen Miao from Duoguan Group and Guo Ning from Xinhua Bookstore Distribution Group actively participated in school-enterprise cooperation and jointly brought various social resources back to their alma mater. Generous donations from alumni like Shang Lifeng, Wang Chuanli, Liu Fei, Qin Yaojun, Li Xin, and many others, set excellent examples, influencing current students to contribute to their alma mater and society in the future.

展望新年，陕西、海南、四川、重庆等地将陆续组建西亚斯校友分会，我非常高兴地看到全国各地的校友们能够携手奋进，期待早日见到大家，共叙美好回忆，共话未来发展。

Looking forward to the new year, Sias alumni associations will be established in various locations, including Shaanxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Chongqing, etc. I am delighted to see alumni from all over the country joining forces, and I look forward to meeting everyone soon to reminisce about good times and discuss future development.

这个月，上海、深圳、郑州、北京四地将举办每年最重要的校友联谊活动，我虽然无法到场参加，但遥祝活动圆满成功！

This month, the most important annual alumni reunion events will be held in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Zhengzhou, and Beijing. Although I cannot attend in person, I extend my remote wishes for the successful completion of these events!

我和同事们将继续努力推动学校的改革和发展，不断创新办学思路，相信西亚斯一定能在各个方面取得更加显著的成绩。学校的发展永远离不开校友们的支持，让我们共同迎接新的挑战，共同书写属于西亚斯的辉煌篇章。

My colleagues and I will continue to work hard to promote the school's reform and development, constantly innovating educational strategies. I believe Sias will achieve more significant accomplishments in various aspects. The development of the school is always inseparable from the support of alumni. Let us collectively face new challenges and write another glorious chapter for Sias.
